We don't host, but just in case anybody wanted to stop by, I had to run the Sweeper! I used the Electrolux G for the bare floors and dusting, and did all the carpets with my Hoovrah Dial-A-Matic 1110.
What did everybody else use this year?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Andy

I used the same vacuum cleaner as you did, along with my B7 polisher!!

I used my Central Vacuum to sweep the hardwood floors today. Tomorrow my Aunt wants me to come over and vacuum her house with her Central Vacuum.

I was visiting my mother who was in ICU for a week after a serious operation. I was shocked when I went to her room the first time as they had her hooked up to a ventilator & other breathing machines in an induced coma (flashback to my husband after he had a stroke & didn't make it) which they brought her out of 2 days after, 2 weeks stay in hospital & about a month in rehab facility she's doing so much better & should return to a normal life once again. I'm just glad they didn't say she's too old to make a full recovery & she will live to see her 87th birthday in December. Someone needs to write a book on how to raise parents after the age of 80.

We didn't host this year so didn't vacuum for that. But we've been rearranging furniture and putting up new blinds so I've been using the Eureka 1934A and Kenmore Whispertone canister to clean behind and under furniture and clean the windows.

Thanksgiving

I've always wondered why the first Dial a Matic had a floating head and the later models had the rug adjustment on the front. Enlighten me..............

I've always thought Hoover thought the spring on the head woidm keep it pulled in the floor and when it didn't work they put the adjuster on. Not sure if that's it, but hey it's a thought!

Used the Hoover 115 that was gifted by Frank Morgan from Alabama. While I'm sure it belched out more dust that it picked up, it was fun to use for a moment.

I was at my grandparents in Mo for thanksgiving. I didn’t do any sweepin’. My grandmother probably used her Oreck XL-21 and hopefully the Electrolux L I gave them for their basement. Although I love my Loveland family I’m glad it’s over.

Kenny,

I, too, love my "Cosgrove" family, well, most of them. But, I'm glad it's over too. I have no contact with the 'Long side of my family". Most are dead now. I intend to contact a cousin, close to my age. Our fathers were brothers.
By the way, a lot of the 'Longs' were Electrolux people.

Agreed.......

A family can have different opinions. It doesn’t mean you don’t love them. Sometimes it’s better not to bring up certain controversial topics to keep the peace. In my experience it’s better to spare aging family members the truth. Because you know the truth will just upset them more.

I try to limit family interactions to Arraignments, Trials, and Funerals. Otherwise we have to stagger visits so one sister doesn't come when the brother is there.

I think they must stick to that rule too, as no a damn one of them even bothered to call our mother this Thanksgiving, and I'm sure at least one of the nieces is out on parole.
