A BIG thank you to Hans Craig! I came home to a huge box on the porch...inside were plenty of those peanuts, and 4 beautiful mixers! 2 gorgeous Sunbeam Hand Mixers, a Chrome Mix-Master (UPS DESTROYED the base...) and a Fabulous Sears branded mixer...I'll be giving them a true workout pretty quick here...need to make me some Pound Cake!!
If anyone has a base they would sell, please let me know....

Thank you, thank you, Hans!

Cool mixers...

Too bad about the base of that chrome Mixmaster. UPS should definitely reimburse you for that. I had a similar thing happen a few years ago with a chrome Mixmaster I bought on eBay. The seller actually shipped the thing with the motor unit attached to the base!!! He gave me a complete refund and let me keep the mixer, so I found a white base on eBay and ended up with a complete mixer and money left over from the original purchase.

You should have a pretty easy time finding a base on eBay. If you've just got to have one right away, you might have to settle for one in some random color but I guess a functional frankenmixer would beat a non-functional mixer and the chrome head would look okay with just about any color. Of course, you could always paint it brown like the original if you really hated the color. If it were mine, I might be tempted to hold out for a nice chrome base. They're made of metal instead of plastic, so in addition to just looking really cool, they're also heavier and more stable.

You might also want to join the Yahoo group WACEM (We Actually Collect Electric Mixers). Somebody there might be able to help you out.

When I received several Mixmaster from the late Kelly as on the Applianceville site-he DID NOT ship the machines assembled. The motors, bowels, bases were individually wrapped and packed. The weight of the motor on the base will break the base if the box gets manhandled as they will be.Best to ship these DISASSEMBLED.Its an easy matter for the recipient to put the machines back together when they have arrived.

I should have packed them myself

Instead of letting ups do it. And it cost 169.00 to ship. I will not ship anything else this is the 3rd time I have had problems

That looks delicious!

Save me a slice, Andy!

I actually picked up a Sunbeam Mixmaster myself this year. Still haven't serviced it, and I need to find one of the bowls and part of the juicer, but man are they nice appliances.

As I look for the parts I need, I'll keep my eyes open for the base you need.

Last time I was at Joliet Goodwill there was a whole mess of Mix-Master parts...I should go see if they still have them! If they do you are welcome to any you want that I don't need...I just want the base! I tried JB welding it together...it worked a little too well, since the release button ended up glued down!

Andy, that sounds excellent. Let me know if you'll be making it there anytime soon. Does that Goodwill normally have good stuff? It's only 45 minutes or so from me barring any Chicago traffic jams. I'm tempted to run down there one afternoon this week after work and see what they have. I'd probably find a couple other thrift stores to hit in the area then, so I wouldn't have to drive back until after rush hour.

That base can be repaired with commercial grade epoxy. It's exactly like the stuff on my West Bend convection oven/skillet.  Bakelite type plastic.....often really thick for strength. I've used epoxy on that stuff forever. After it's set, I take a dark brown Sharpie and draw on the seam....sometimes you can't even see the repair if it was a clean break.

Great the bases are available on eBay...I haven't been so lucky with my fan housing on the West Bend.

The only problem with gluing that stand where it's broken is spring tension from the latch button. It may make it pop back apart.

My conscience is irrationally nagging at me right now because I used to have a nice chrome stand with a broken latch button but I tossed it in the dumpster when I moved three or four years ago. Just couldn't keep everything. It's kind of too bad because you could have used your latch button to complete it. Yeah, I should know better than to go down the 'coulda, woulda, shoulda' road, but that's one of my character defects.

Hi Andy,

Wow your Sears CounterCraft/Sunbeam Power Plus Mixmaster is very Nice Condition then again all the mixers that Hans sent you are very nice that Vista will stunning once you can get another base for it:) How are you liking the Sears so far?I really love mine I have the same Sears version! These mixers were truly made to compete with KA I tried to like a KA mixer but just could get used to the planetary mixing I also was brought up with Sunbeams my whole life & always can back to them. That was all my Mom owned,I found they mix a lot more finer, faster & give high results in cakes, you'll love the dough hooks! Are you thinking of getting any attachments for it? All three are very helpful the juicer,shredder/slicer & meat grinder.Did you happen to get the Instruction/Recipe booklet with it?I found mine in Canada locally which surprized me I had to get a new control board for & overhaul it,these mixers might be all plastic body but are very Study & well made, inside the motor is in cased in a metal frame & they have all metal gears which I thought was pretty good for an eighties model. Now back to Christmas Baking I am have so much fun using it :)

I LOVE Using it! It had a touch of Bearing Noise at first, but now it runs beautifully! I do have the turn-table and the timer out...both needed some servicing.

It did not have the recipe book...I should try and find that.
