Can't Use It

Until Friday.

Sorry about the spelling the installer does better with installations than with spelling.

Fred:

The shower looks great! Very sleek and understated. Things have come a long, LONG way, haven't they?

I'm sure you'll be grateful to have the use of the shower on Friday. I'm guessing you're using one of the other bathrooms for the moment and won't have to resort to dousing yourself in Hai Karate! ;-)

More Progress Shots

Well, since the gathering is over, I can show some more progress.  The boys helped me hang artwork and do some rearranging.  Thanks guys.  Everyone tried out the new shower and loved it.  Unfortunately, the shower enclosure folks are going to have to some back and adjust the door.  It is leaking fairly badly from under the door.  With all that water flow is it any wonder?  Drain works fine.  Hopefully it will be a minor adjustment of the gasket but they will have to fix it.  Here is the shower done.

The Room

Is far from complete.  The cabinets should be coming in this week.  Those get installed then the granite guys come to measure the top.  Back to install the top, then the mirrors get installed.  We're almost there.

That Bathroom....

....Is an amazing advance over its former "look."

By the time it's due for another remodel, you're going to have to do this to make it any better!

Looks good Fred. I know I am being nitpicky but are you going to be changing the door hardware i.e. handle, hinges to match the finish of the new taps? I know I just finished changing all the taps, towel holders, cabinet hinges, pulls, etc. in my bathroom and didn't even think about changing the door hinges and handle until after the fact. If I change them however, then that would just snow ball and I would have to start changing the all the doors in the hallway, etc. so I have elected to leave them as is.

Yep

As we go through each bathroom, I have been changing the door hardware to match the fixtures.  Not the hinges though.  Don't see much of them.  But the door handles have to go.

It's all

beautiful....I'm so jealous!! It's also reassuring to know that the work was done correctly.

It's probably a good think that I don't live in a home that beautiful. If I did, I would probably be 10 x more OCD than I am now!

Amazingly

The thing I am most excited about is having the KitchenAid KDS-17 back in again.  This has to be the classiest dishwasher of all time.  Still working and doing a beautiful job after 40 years of service.  Cleans like the day she was put in in the 70's.  Use both the Daily Use and Party Cycles!

The Home Stretch!

Fred:

As exciting and fascinating as all this has been, I know you're going to be glad when it's all done and there are no more installations to worry about. It has come a LOOOOOOOOOOONG way. I'll be interested to see the cabinets with mirrors, countertops and hardware. All that change just to get drawers in the middle - wow.

I didn't realize you weren't using the 906s at present. Now THAT is deprivation! Get Dan over on the double and get those babies back in business!
