I picked up this PowerMate PN that I was determined to repair. Came with a broken elbow and shattered height adjuster fin.

FYI, this PN has a few versions of the elbow that will work. One is pictured and the other is already replaced. The first involves a length of hose with a stationary plate holding the other end to the air passage. (I thought about fabricating one of those).

Before and after pictures.
I want to send out a thanks to a VL member who I have struck up a friendship with. I am honored to call him friend. He was able to procure the replacement elbow to restore this PN. THANKS!

Thanks, Ed.

The interesting part was fabricating the height adjustment "fin".

Started with piece of lucite, I think, and using a coping saw and files, I finally got the shape I needed.

I used my other repaired fin as the template and methodically checked the piece for fit.

I finally cemented the whole thing using a thin coat of JB Weld.

Again, Thanks.

Nice job. Working with plastic - especially old plastic - is pretty tricky. Amazed how much glue was in that hole, someone must have just kept gluing it every time it slid out.
