Part of the fun for me with vacuums beside the ballooning bag is turning it on and off and seeing all the different ways the various vacuums turn on and off.

So, whats your favorite kind of switch? Do you like push button, rocker, toggle, slider, and do you prefer them on the handle or the step on kind?

My most favorite switch is the step on push button kind. Kirbys and Eurekas win the award there :o) My least favorite kind are rockers or slides that are half way up the body of the vacuum like those found on Sharp, some Panasonic, and Hoover Elites. I don't want to bend over to turn the silly thing on!

So, what's your favorite?

Switch!

That Hoover Convertible switch always did it for me.

As far back as I remember, that white flip switch has always fascinated me.. the feel of that "click" that only those switches feel like.

only seen it on youtube, but the speed knob on a bison upright that brings it from a gentle purr on low up to a jet airplane roar on full power.

the step on switch on the lux XXX is classic, the perfect switch.

I am also a fan of the switch on the Hoover Convertibles. Just love to hear that click when you turn it on

How about the switches on the early 500 series Kirby. My moms 508...all metal, sturdy...one of my favorites.

Then it would have to be any of the Lux...from the L, G, and newer.

Here's mine.....

Hoover Convertible switch, Royal metal upright, and then the Electrolux AE.......

And yes.....those vacuums with balloning bags..........such a "beautious thing".

This is gonna come as a shock...

This is my second favorite. Universal VC6702. Another switch hidden in industrial art.

Whoops!!!

Didn't mean to post this picture! The blue ribbon is for best original at the 2009 Chicago VCCC Convention. It was the ONLY winner in that category. Yep, the only one. There was no other one. Just this one. No tie. Uh uh....

For some reason I always thought that black round button on the Lux XXX was so neat!! Easy to use with your hand or foot and sure must have been made well!!
