Yesterday I logged on to find this: A Filter Queen that I had wanted. Best of all,
For free! All I was told is it did not work and may be the switch.
It had been listed 2 hours before. I contacted them and was told someone had already claimed it. They also said it that falls through, I would be contacted.
I checked this morning and a bit later, they said come get it!
Looked cleaner in the picture than it was in person. Looked like sawdust but finer.

Got it home and it ran. I took it apart to find the secondary filter was layered in fine dust. I took it out and it sounded better. My guess is, it shut down because of the airflow and was going to overheat. I will have to check the hose as well.

I will try it out later once everything has been cleaned.

Best overall canister cleaner ever made in my opinion, That power nozzle is absolutely wonderful, Small and light it gets under and around furniture very easily.

Almost done....

Wiped everything down that could not be washed. Had to replace the exhaust batting as it was some black foam which when rubbed sort of melted. Replaced with breathable white batting.

Washed the basin, rubber seals, pre-motor filter holder/retainer ring, the cone cage and dolly/castors. I did remember to take out the cardboard dolly ring which I wiped and applied clear spray paint.

I just finished dismantling the PN washed what could be washed. Used air to blow out the motor. Just need to wait till the other washed parts dry.

Did have to replace the round metal clip that holds the fragrance disk in the top cap. I had cones and 2 filter disks already.

Motor unit reassembled and ready. Tuesday I will reassemble the PN. Next up, the electric hose and wand. Then finally the attachments.

Age? The ID sticker has the date of 10/91 punched on it. Came with a User's Manual for Princess II & III.

This Princess is shaping up nicely. Pictures to follow.

One thing, I wish I had the blue male to female cord that runs from the motor unit to the hose. Right now it has a brown one. I may have a white one in my spares.

So far.....Pictures

Reassembled the PN, so clean. I used Plastic polish on the PN and any plastic on the motor unit. The hose was cleaned by first pouring baking soda followed by vinegar (you can imagine the force of the foam coming out). Then I rinsed it out and hung it to dry. I also scrubbed clean the attachments and finally the wand.

I will let everything dry for days, mostly the hose. I may run an Electrolux with the hose hooked up to the exhaust port, to help dry the inside of the hose.

I noticed quite a lot of parts to this machine are plastic. I understand these were sold in Vac. Stores, but were these a cheaper version of the main models?

At any rate, I love this vac.
