Model 9..

This was the first Sunbeam with a beater ejector I believe, Im pretty sure it was made from 48 to 50 when the 10 was introduced, it was built thru 55 then the 11was made until 57 when the 12 came out, it was made until 67, 10 full years...before the 9 was the 7, their was no 8...also the 9 was the first to have the button on the beater to control bowl speed.I may be off on some of this, but I think its correct.

Great little mixer you got there! Kenkart you are right on almost all! The model 3 came out in 1936 and was the first model to get the "classic look", (i.e. the bake lite handle and space age look). After the 3, came the model 5, which started in 1939. BTW, the 3 and 5 look different! Not getting in to every model, hence you have a 9. After the model 5 came the model 7 in 1941. The 7 was the first model to have the beater ejector. After the 7 came the model 9. The 9 came out in 1948. It was the first model to have a beater tip added to help with the bowl spinning and I believe also to help with not scratching up the glass bowls! Ok, the 9's are cool because there is an early 9 and a later 9! The early 9 would have the old sticker on it like a model 7 and back. The later 9's would have the newer sticker the same as a model 10! Also, the juicer is changed up from the previous models. The juicer for a 9 will have the metal strainer on the inside (where there is a line tab to line it up on the inside of the juicer), also the juicer tip is plastic. The older juicers had a metal pour tip and a little metal mesh strainer cup that fit onto the pour tip. That's all that I can think of! BTW, can you make out what sticker it was that you had??? I can't tell by your picture. The sticker would have been on the left side of the motor head, behind the black brush cap. The same side as where the juicer attachment would go. Keep us posted on your mixing adventures!!! :) -Michelle
