Those are some interesting vacuums.
I have never heard of or seen one of those bulky Sturtevant canisters before and I think we can all see why they quickly became obsolete. I have seen that straight suction Sturtevant upright in another thread somewhere on Vacuumland.

those bulky Sturtevant canisters was intended for use in large spaces such as factories, garages, halls ...a smaller model offered for sale in 1912 looked more convenient to use !
