Are there any recently manufactured straight-suction uprights? I seem to remember that Royal still offered one, but I can no longer find it on their website.
At the VCCC Convention, I was intrigued by the cleaning power of the vintage uprights without a brush roll.
If there are no recent uprights without brush rolls, then perhaps we'll need to move this to the vintage forum.
Thanks for your help.

A few years back, Miele made an upright called the Miele Art that had no brushroll. It came in several different colors and designs (I remember one had roses on it). Why it was discontinued is a mystery to me....

I have the Meile Art Rose vacuum-indeed the "Art" series was intended for hard floors. The Arts are still made-the dealer in my area has them.they are selling more today than before-most new homes in my area do have hard floors.
Royal used to make a metal upright that didn't have a brushroll and had bristles on the nozzle lips-they were liked by users that had to maintain wood or other hard gym and basketball floors.Don't know when royal discontinued them-again its something that Stupid TTI should still make.Oh yes-Meile makes a special version of the Red Art Roses-its deep blue instead-the Premium Meile dealers carry them. Its like the red-but just blue in color instead. Its a pretty machine.
