Our President wanted to see a Hoover model 50 rug tool, so I decided to post a BUNCH of rug tools, I didnt have room on the table for any more, but some of these are kind of rare.

Another great thread!  I love those Filtex tools.  Fred Nelson has a set of Filtex tools that he uses with his uber-powerful central vac... they're really very well designed tools and do an excellent job!

I have that same Rug tool for my model 50 AeroDyne.  I just need an original cloth hose for it.  I have a later 'veriflex' hose.

Thank you, Hans!

Never having seen one or have anyone swear they had, this is the first proof positive that the unique Hoover 50 Floor nozzle actually existed outside of magazine advertisements.
A beauifully crafted aluminum & rubber piece for the Model 50 replacing the taller boxier 'un-Bugged' one that came with the earlier Model 41, there must have been something fundamentally wrong with it's design when used.
By 1951's Model 51 that particular bumper-wrapped nozzle style was history, with the familiar taller profile Constellation type now standard.

In my mind it's the rarest one on the table. Could you please post a picture of the 50's underside business end?

Dave....

Your wish is my command! Actually,I like the 50 rug tool much better than a lot of the others, it cleans great, and pushes much easier than the later ones.

Filtex Tools!

Here are a set of Filtex tools just back from the polisher in Racine Wisconsin. Delivered by none other than our own Tania Voight. She has the best sources. I got my first set of Filtex tools with my first Filtex central vac in the late 70s. These things are solid polished aluminum. As many machines as I have gotten rid of, these tools have always been with me. Tania took them to her polishing guy in Racine and delivered them back to ooohs and aaaahs. Fred S. found some of them while routing through my closets on one of his visits. I heard him from the front hallway when he found them. A good set of tools rivaling Electrolux. There are some others that are as good, but the workmanship and functionality of these tools are hard to beat.

Of Course

I do love the early Hoover canister tools. Here is my Hoover 53. The litter gitter is hard to beat. Boy, they don't engineer the straight-suction tools like this anymore.

The Other

Straight suction rug tool that is a fabulous performer is the Lewyt. Part of it rolls on the back and forth motion concentrating the suction. It works really well.
