I have an Electrolux Jubilee and its motor smells like rotten milk I know that because I took it apart and the motor had the smell. Any tips on how to get rid of that smell?
While you have the motor out of the machine give it a good cleaning. Remove the 4 screws holding the fan housings on. Remove the center fan nut and remove and clean the fans using an old brush and warm soapy water. Dry the fans thoroughly. Clean the motor and fields with an old brush and blow it out with an air compressor. Lube the sleeve bearing and also saturate the little felt inside around the sleeve bearing. To access the felt you will need to tap the round cap on the end of your motor. Saturate the as t felt until when you touch it, oil will seep out. The oil to use is turbine oil, available at Grainger supply. After cleaning and drying the fans and lubing the felt, reassemble your motor and vacuum. With a good cleaning your vacuum should run and work like new! If you have any questions feel free to contact me at:[email protected]. Sincerely, Nathan L Thomas. Electrolux dude
