Stark's new vacuum cleaner museum

Stark's Vacuums in Portland has had a museum that some of you have seen. It occupied a small wing of their original store for a long time. They have been remodeling the store and have reduced the museum to a wall display, but it is nicely done with a time line and related photos.

Stark's Museum

Although Stark's did a fantastic job on the vintage vacuum wall, what happened to the rest of the vintage collection? I have visited the museum twice, once in 2001 and again in 2012, and the museum housed some other vintage machines that were in very good condition. Hope the machines are stored or went to some enthusiastic collector(s).

This will explain how the current version of the museum came to be...

The space where the museum originally was, it's now being leased out. The new museum is now on the main floor, and the designer of the new museum, Jeff Kraemer, painstakingly chose (under the direction of Rick Nye, the curator) which of the 25 vacuums that really mattered to Stark's the most. I too hope that the remaining 300 or so vacuums found good homes!

Too bad they elected to display the machines up on a wall. Stark's Vacuum Store visitors should be able to turn them on and run them. Where are the attachments? The Haley's Comet tools have to be seen to be believed (the rug tool was horrible).
