It IS a 1961 Chrysler! The '61 model only existed so Chrysler could make use of $7 Million in DeSoto parts, it shared many parts with the Chrysler models of that time!
You just have to!
Drive one of these old Chrysler products to believe it, its just a totally different experience, true effortless driving, the power steering and brakes do take some getting used to if you have only driven new cars, but after you get the feel of it, anything new drives like a wagon, with these, the steering is so easy and responsive, it only takes 1 finger, no matter how rough the road,it doesent matter if its a gravel road, or a uneven paved road, you never feel any of the roughness, the wheel never fights back, even in parking, 1 finger will turn it , even sitting still, you can drive one all day, and still not be tired like you are with todays halfway power steering...and the Center Plane brakes, ..when you imagine an egg between your foot and the brake pedal...you do fine, the one rule of thumb is , use only the very tip of your shoe, and never lift your foot from the floor, you do and you will find out just how much power those brakes have!!
