Interesting that the Goblin / Defy cylinder says it is not for "pile" carpets.

Also the tool kit for the Electrolux 302 is far more advanced than the one supplied with the UK cleaner.

Very interesting, thank you for posting. Interesting to see similar machines in SA to the European and UK machines. The Defy upright was indeed made by Goblin and was sold here in the late 70's/early 80's as the Goblin Housemaid.
