Souping up a Rexair . . .

I understand that vacuum collecting often calls for bringing the "rare" back to original form and condition. But, what if you want to go one step further? Is it sacrilege to retro-fit a working Rexair Model C with a power nozzle? I don't think it will be hard to accomplish and there are still enough Rexairs to be found to thus not cause need for concern as to rarity. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks,

Why drill into an antique...?

When power nozzles can into vogue, vac shops sold a lot of them with "cheater" cordss that plugged into 120V household outlets, the way CV pn do today.

Only way I'd soup up a Rainbow D2 or D3A is to refit its R-1024 power nozzle option with the Vibra-Groomer I (all-metal) brush roll. Everything else I'd leave alone.

Go for it...

I say go for it. I have many of my Kirbys rigged with mini emtors so I can use the HEPA bags. If you want to make an antique usable for YOUR needs, than that is all that really counts. Just make sure you are careful and don't do anything that might hurt you or damage your home.

If you want to do it, do it. There is a Constallation floating around here someplace that was fitted with a power nozzle and I think it's awesome. I have often thought of doing it but I have enough that already have power nozzles.
