So, all of you sweeper lovers out there, what makes a sweepers sound appealing to you? Like a deep roar, a quiet whispy, etc.? Also, which of one in particular of yours is your favorite sounding? :)

I have three favorite sounds.
1. 514 and older with a six blade metal fan
2. 515 - Tradition with a ten blade metal fan
3. A g series retro fitted with a ten blade metal fan

I have to agree with @gottahaveahoove.

Those metal-based, pre-mid-70's Convertibles; once the motor and brushroll bearings are lubricated, they have a really nice sound. They could probably put a baby to sleep! I also like the sound of the late 70's 4.7 amp Convertibles (ex. Convertible Elite, Estate) and even the newer plastic models sound nice with a CWP brushroll.

Love the sound of the XXX , so calming and relaxing! Just soothes the troubles away. The kirby is a very much to me the sound of some cleaning getting done, just registers in my head as power

@icee: If you like that growly tone, then a Convertible is just the cleaner for you! I had also used an Electrolux 1205 once before and loved the sound of it, too.

My favorite vacuum sound is the Hoover Celebrity! The motor just has a constant, pleasant hum. Some consider it loud decibal wise but the tone is pleasant to me so it doesn't annoy the way a new suction motor sounds like on a Shark, or many other vacs on the market.

The Hoover PowerMax is also very very pleasant me. Both favorites of mine!!
