somebody please post the 1993 hoover visit newsletter

1993 Newsletter

Well, I never intended to post the entire newsletter -- it's about 40 pages thick!

What I did intend to do -- and still will do, if I can find them -- is to post the photos that were taken of the tour of the Hoover Models Vault that appeared in that issue. I think there were four pages of photo. It's been a while, but I =think= the photos were taken by John Lucia.

I did make a first-run look through my archives for the master copy of that newsletter and it wasn't there. Somewhere in the back of my mind the idea is rattling around that I sent it to someone who wanted to make copies of it. That person would most likely have been one of the previous newsletter editors or one of the presidents. If this rings a bell with anyone, please let me know.

Meanwhile, I'll keep looking.......

for the vault pictures this last weekend. No luck yet. The newsletter is back in Oregon at one of 4 locations. We'll find it someday John L.

Well, I do have a copy of the newsletter

and it has color photos, so I can scan them. I was holding out to find the master copy because the originals would have scanned better, but I guess I'll have to work with what I have.

okay, I looked through the Hoover issue

of the newsletter (dated June-September 1994 btw), and while there are 12-count-em-12 pages of color photos, only one page is from the Hoover Vault itself. The other photos are of the Hoover Historical Center, lunch in the Hoover cafeteria, some pix from the club meeting at whatever hotel they stayed at, and finally some photos at collector Don O'Connor's house.

Attached is that one page of photos. Sorry there weren't more. I am sure

I meant to say, I am sure someone has more photos. It will just be a matter of finding who they are and convincing them to share them with us!

John Lucia or Alex Taber, do you remember who was taking photos? From what I can gather from the photos, some of the members who attended this convention included Michael Hays, Alex Taber, John Lucia, Tom Gasko, Billy Lipman, Bob Kautzman, Clay Floyd, Don O'Connor, Gary (Wahl?), Craig Long, Roger Proehl, and Stan Kann. Other members may have attended, but these are the only one who appear in the photos.
