I haven't gone off Miele, but there are pros and cons to each brand, Marcus in my ownership experience.
Compared to SEBO who only allow some optional tools to custom build and further the machines, Miele are too over priced. I find it cheaper to buy in tools I want from EBay sellers from other countries compared to the prices that Miele charge in the UK; I am more inclined to buy from SEBO UK than Miele UK; the prices tends to be fairer and I'm not charged by a premium rate number when calling Miele!
Miele cylinder vacs are fantastic in my opinion - but NOT all their ranges.
I bought one of the first Miele S7210's when they appeared in the UK. I was not impressed at all. It is designed for the U.S market and it clearly shows because it was far too big and bulky.
For a modern company like MIele, I did not expect to have to pedal the floor head over rugs on carpets all of the time as well as remove two screws on the back when the hose got clogged. And the hose on mine used to get clogged a fair bit until I stopped using the vac for cleaning out the car with. The brush roll was impossible to clean off despite "scissor cutting guiders" on the brush roll; I have always been surprised that Miele could not allow a removable brush roll on the S7 like SEBO.
