Some old vacuums, and people too.

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I visited the museum in 2017 when it was still at the other building. I enjoyed it very much, being able to see, touch and play with all the vacuums. Tom and his husband were great hosts. We also had lunch together before I had to be on my way. I would love to make it to his present shop to see all the vacs again.

Long may the positive reactions continue coming!!!

The museum hosts a large collection with examples most collectors might never get to find so is nice to be able to go there to see them in real life rather than staring at a picture.

It is nice to see a rare vacuum in 3D than 2D. Plus being able to hear it run and actually clean with it. I had a lewyt Leader when I was a teenager in Boca Raton. That is one example of a seemingly rare cleaner which I am sure is hiding somewhere in the museum.

All the best.

Gary.

Yes there is enough positive on here to outweigh the baddies when enough get together and respect one another. For sure.

But hey - with a museum like this - nothing but respect to go around. For people like me still new to collecting - a lot of what's in there I've never even knew about before. I've seen maybe less than 10% of those cleaners float around ebay storefronts over the years. I'm sure for the normal people and non-collectors that walk around there - they likely are a lot like me - had absolutely no idea. When you get into all the little fly-by-night companies and smaller sub brands outside of Hoover, Eureka, Bissell, etc, it's crazy how many vacuum cleaners actually were made over the years.

The aqua TriStar C-6 on the wall...

...it looks like it has matching power nozzle behind it?  If that is what it, does anyone have a picture of one?

Gary, all I would say to that is MY day would also be brighter not visiting them or putting up with their nonsense.

It's well known in the vac collecting community that this particular person has been known to have drug and alcohol induced sex parties in the evenings with his guests when he has each convention each year. In addition, he is known for backstabbing other members behind their back, fabricating stories, and he has also stolen vacuums from other collectors. In fact, this person, while employed by Tacony Corporation back in 2012, actually offered me during a phone conversation that if I bought him 1 Shark vacuum, he would give me any Tacony vacuum I wanted in return. Knowing this person's past, I made a excuse and declined. I knew that he would never follow through and I would have been 1 of his victims.

If you care to associate with a person like that? Great, more power to you! I choose not to. And it's about time more people knew EXACTLY what this person is REALLY all about.

And just like that….

The author of the previous post suffered the indignity of having her latest comments ingnored. Alternately, there continued to be an outpouring of positive energy generated by the love of vacuums and the appreciation shown to those who preserve them for posterity and make them available for all to see. Tom,

I have been meaning to find time to say that just as with the previous museum every time we see pictures it looks better and better!I will now add that you have more vintage vac knowledge and know more about what modern vac is best to remove dirt from different surfaces than any one person I know.In addition to being a great host, tour guide and cook. You have also been very generous to me and others I know with rare vacs and parts we might have never found.
Now for those who ENJOY NEGATIVE comments---In reply 12 the office walls look bare! This is not a museum of wood paneling but a VACUUM museum!Where are the vac ads, posters, clocks, awards and other???

We would love for you to visit and be part of the Convention this year. Third weekend in September. Last weekend of summer.

The theme to the cleaning contest this year is Power Nozzle Canisters. Bring your favorite machine to enter in the competition. If you don't have one of your own to enter, pick one from the Museum's collection and enter that one. We all have a fun no matter if you bring a machine or not.

just awesome.

Awesome collection. Awesome presentation. I am beyond words how anyone could say anything disparaging about the presentation of the collection, and the efforts that went into it. I can only say CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU for sharing. Gary K.
