Hey, vacuumlanders, how is everybody doing? I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but I've been really busy. I've settled down now in my new place, in a smaller town--it's nice to be in a smaller town. Canyon, TX is about 13,000 in population, which is quite a change from 200,000 in Amarillo. Anyway--I travel on the road a lot making deliveries in different Texas panhandle towns and on my spare time while I'm on the road, I frequent the antique stores and thrift stores. Here's one of my latest finds, for $20.00. Enjoy!

Kool!

That is an awesome vacuum. I'm not finding any vacuums in thrift stores around here for some reason. Guess there might be somebody getting to them first or something.

Now Evan, calm down a bit.

Thrift store finds seem to be a function of what was sold in a particular area. I.e., if the area was strong with Kirby or LUX salesmen, for example. If not, people went elsewhere to find good vacs like Sears or whatever dept stores they had...even the old Ma & Pa vacuum shops of lore.  Here,  LUX never took on a place as did Kirby. So....I rarely see a LUX and if I do, the price is greatly inflated. Some member here find virtual cornucopias of vintage vacuums in thrift stores. I gotta be a bit envious, sorry.
