I’ve been on a Kenmore kick lately. My most recent patient is my Kenmore Premier that I found at Goodwill for about $3. It was absolutely filthy when I got it and it’s motor sounded like a squealing pig, but after I addressed that it cleaned up really nicely! Next is my Kenmore Whispertone EVPC that I found some years back and it’s still my favorite due to the color. After that is my Kenmore Elite Crossover I found on eBay a year ago that didn’t run, but I got it running once more and found a wand to use with it since it was missing the one it came with it. And lastly there’s my Kenmore 200 Series that I purchased brand new and it sees the most use out of the four Kenmores here. I feel really pleased on how the Premier cleaned up since it was very scuffed up, dirty and it also got treated to new attachments as well even if they aren’t light grey like it would have had originally.

Kenmore vacuum

I would love to find one of the Kenmore canisters from the 1970's, I think they may have been called the magic cord or maybe the big Kenmore's, I'm not sure when these came out, was it the early 70's, not sure, but apparently they were very popular canister machines.

Mike!
Magic Cord was Kenmore's name for their cordwinder. Some models were called that and often had a little emblem on top saying magic cord. One other fun note about 70's K's was that the plug had a right angle end! Greg

Very nice. The blue Premier one, I always wanted that one as a kid. Sears had one on clearance for $99 and I tried to convince my parents to get it for me, but no such luck. Of course I have my own Kenmores now.

I notice the Whispertone has a replacement Cen-Tec power nozzle, but it looks nearly identical to the original. Was it like that when you got it?

I used to really want one of the 70s avocado and woodgrain Sears Best canisters with the tool rack that sat inside or on top. But I never found one. The closest I got was I saw one of the later versions of it with white and woodgrain instead and orange trim.

Fan-of-fans!

I bought the Cen-Tec to use the wands with my Tri-Star with a Panasonic nozzle I bought. I intended to put the Cen-Tec nozzle with the Whispertone since it didn’t have the powermate.
