These have been reconditioned. The old metal green one on the far right belonged to my Grandmother who also owned a nice E Electrolux. The blue one in the middle with the white handi-handle belonged to my other Grandma who owned a mint G Electrolux. Pictures of those to follow soon.

I also have quite a few Electrolux tanks 30's, LX, E, AE, F, AF, R, G, L, 1205 etc, like new Hoover Spirit in the box that mom and I bought new in 1985 at Zayres, a couple of Hoover brooms, a Pixie, a few Convertibles, a Junior, many Dirt devil C bag uprights from the early 90's, but those belong in the modern thread, and a ton of hand vacs. I also have five nice Eureka F&G bagged uprights of the 1400 series variety and a clean B bag Eureka canister.

Wow, I was just in Greene before Christmas to check out the older hardware store coming home from Elmira and Binghamton. I know the neat downtown area pretty well. Would love to see your collection. I have lots more pics to take of mine. Drop my an email sometime: [email protected]

So thats where all the Electrikbrooms are now,I just found my first one last week,the lady next door put it out to the curb,I didn't bother going over to check it out for a couple of days because all I could see was an orange handle grip sticking out of a pile of other stuff,when I went to chrck it out it turned out to be a powerteam model with the brown and white bag like the one in your first pic,they also cut the cord off so I havn't tested it yet,but I did go back to the Goodwill and pick up the one thats been there for a while so I would have the right handgrip and cord,its the rust colored three speed model next to your other powerteam. Mark

You're welcome, Joel, and you have a Spirit in a box--neat! I have a low-budget Spirit in cream and red, with all the plastic wands and tools, it's a great vacuum.

Terry, I believe the Speedvac by Iona was offered in the late 80's/early 90's as a Canadian import. It uses many of the same parts as the Regina models but the motor is different with traditional roller bearings instead of the sleeve setup Regina bought from GS Electric at the time. It also had it's own dark gray cord and the plastic body around the motor housing assembly was different than the Regina Powerteam. I found this in the garbage with a burnt up motor so had to resort to switching the entire inner motor housing over to the Regina style so I could retro fit one of there motors in place of the Iona version. It works quite well now.

Now that is really fascinating! I don't know of anyone else in the club who specializes in broom-vacs! Those are really cool. When I was a kid, a lot of the "ladies" had them for quick pick-ups, mostly the Regina Electric-Brooms. I remember one lady who had a very early one that was sort of purpleish-maroon color with a maroon bag. She also had a Model XXX Electrolux. She would let me use the Regina but not the Electrolux.

My parents got a Regina Electric Broom for a wedding present in 1979. We had it until I was maybe 5 or 6. It stopped working, and my father and I (I was overseeing, of course) took it apart. We had it apart on the workbench, and plugged it in, turned it on, and it caught fire. So, in the trash it went.
From what I remember, it was light blue, with daisy-like flowers all over the bag. It was... i think... a 2 or 3 speed model. I've never seen another like it.
In fact, in my 10+ years of actively collecting and hunting for machines, I've only maaaaybe seen 3 or 4 Regina Electric Brooms. I don't know if people just throw them away, or if they weren't popular in my area, or what... but they are few and far between.
I have always been intrigued by the cream-colored one from the mid-80's, with the powernozzle. I remember seeing the ads for them in the Sunday paper. I've never actually seen one in person. *sigh*

I'll have to look, I think I may have a picture with my parent's Regina in it somewhere...

(Just like Tom and Jeff have their Hoover Dial A Matics hanging...)
You could do it by color, or by model number, or switch it around...

I've been looking for info on these for a while. The Mum of one of my friends in primary (grade?) school had one just like that around 1965. In Australia they were branded "Lemair". I have no idea where they were made, and they had disappeared from the market by, say, 1970. Interesting that they still existed under the "Regina" brand in the US much later than that. Are they still in production over there?

I also remember these from when I was young and now have one in my collection. Picked it up on ebay in Melbourne about 3 years ago, it's branded Lemair by Regina. It was the first one I had seen in years and have not seen one since.

Wow a trip without the acid LOL. I love Electrikbrooms just for the gaudy fabrics alone. They were probably more popular than realized since just about every hardware store, catalog outlet and dept store seemed to carry them with a unique fabric. I've got 3 or 4, one with the Electrik-brush. Sears was a big seller of them as well with their Kwik-Sweeps in the good, better and best categories. I still run across the Iona Speed Vacs occasionally but never picked one up because they just seemed so blah looking in comparison.
Wow. That collection is amazing! I have always wondered how many variations there were, and now I have some idea. This explains why I have never seen two that were alike. It's also cool that it took only 9 years to get all of those. If I counted right you have about 106 which would make about 12 per year. Thats fantastic considering that their not exactly common.

I have found him over 30 regina brooms, some were for parts or keeps. I also rebilt him two old hoovers a 115 and a 61 for birthday and Xmas last year.

I love those wacky patterns that Regina used for the bags! You could actually buy your EB to match your furnishings! Modern Furinture? Get the EB with the polka dots. Early American? Get the EB with the Early American print bag!
Fred has a great idea in displaying those brooms! I think it would look great!!

Joel, thank you for this addition! You have added something unique to the forum, I believe. In post 30130, a 3-speed with the white Handy Handle is visible between two older green ones. I was around 5 when that was new, and it was one of my first "real" vacuum. I begged for one for Christmas, and I was so excited about the prospect of getting it from Santa that I fell asleep next to the catalog open the its page for weeks before Christmas.
