Yes Shaylee loved meeting everyone and has told me I can no longer go to conventions without her lol On our way home she got on ebay and did some shopping and bought herself a few vintage vacs that she thinks we needed...... Thanks guys, thanks a lot! As if We didn't already have enough dadgum vacuums sitting around, now she understands more about collecting and loves it. The cool thing about that is her interests in vacuums is different than mine so it will keep the collection interesting.
I'm sure others will be posting soon as well.
Can't believe that last week at this time, we were in a car driving the 13 hour trip.
Been a little busy here, with the arrival of the new cat, giving final exams, etc.
I was exhausted after that trip. John
It was a long trip for me too! 11 hrs. I made it all in one day! After I said good bye to everyone in Chicago at breakfast I drove back with Chad. Chad, Sean and I got into Kansas City about 7pm. I loaded up my truck and headed back to Tulsa and got home around 11:30 p.m. It was a long haul but well worth it! I'm so excited for next year I can't wait! Barb is already working on getting a hotel!
My trip wasn't as long as yours John. I was coming down with a cold so I'm sure that made a difference. I was happy to be in my own bed Sunday night. I love the conventions because we all stay up pretty and talk! It's part of the fun and the experience! I am sure every one was a little tired afterward.
It was nice to be in my own bed.................a bed.......
I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. I had to get the car to the rental at 8 Mon..... then be at the college at 9 to give finals. YIKES!! Then, the new kitty arrived last night. I'm still tired.
Next year will be great, I've no doubts.
This one certainly was streamlined, improved, modernized, etc. It's only going to improve with more of the same.
Great seeing you, Kenny. All of YOUR hard work does NOT go un- noticed.
John
I had such a fun time. It was really nice to see everyone again and explore what new machines that everyone acquired. I just want to give a big thank you to John Long for letting me be his car buddy the trip was long going and coming but we had a great time entertaining ourselves in the car with great music. I cannot wait for next year to see the group. Both collector's that we visited were super gracious and fun to meet. I am so happy I finally got to meet Jeff Parker and see his amazing Hoover Collection and also talk to Tom Anderson he is a great guy.
I donated various vac makers names on the towels, which went over very well. I used the tried and true popular ones" , General Electric, Eureka, Kirby, and Electrolux. Of course, not being a traitor, a Hoover one as well.
Sam you are absolutely right Jeff and Tom are great guys and their vast collections are truly worth seeing!
I don't know if I can make next year either..... It's so far from me geesh. I mean a whole hour and a half!!! Just kidding! I can't hardly wait. Shaylee and I have already started coming up with ideas for the day we host at our house.
