The hose fairy made a stop at my home today. Look what she brought the Desert Tortoise. Unobtanum from the depths of some Sears warehouse, via an on line shop in Colorado called Appliance Parts Factory. I practically had vertigo when I saw this listed as being in stock. The photo was of an ivory hose. Could it really be? One lingered on some shelf waiting for the Desert Tortoise to come calling? Would it be in good shape or would the years have taken it's toll? I even called before placing the order just to be sure and the csr told me it was the only one in stock. The last of the Mohicans. Holy moly I must be living right or something.

Even better, it appears to be a newly manufactured hose! Someone somewhere is making new ones. Looks like they dusted off the original molds. Everything is of the highest quality. And the gray hose is much more durable than the old ivory stuff even if it doesn't look original. Oh Lordy hallelujah. This one is only seven feet compared to the ten footers of yore and I paid out the hooter for it (man you don't want to know the cost per foot) but no complaints. I even see this part listed right in Sears Parts Direct where previously it showed it no longer available. The hose fairy waved her wand and sprinkled her fairy dust on the Desert Tortoise. Sears Parts Direct says she will be visiting here again soon.
