Smoke from carbon brush

Hi
I have a Kirby Sentria-II. It runs ok while on nozzle but as soon as I attach a hose, there is electic buring smell and lot of smoke.
I checked the Armature and it was damaged. I have replaced the Armature with new one and have put new carbon brushes but still the problem continues. What can be the reason??
I have not changed the front bearing, when I changed the Armature and brushes, will changing the front bearing help???

Isn't that machine

still under warranty?  I'd take it back to the Kirby dealer and have them repair it.  If it is smoking only on the high speed, then I would suspect a shorted field coil.  Another symptom would be the machine would get super hot.

Thanks for your reply jfalberti. Yes it was under warranty and we got a replacement. You are right motor gets super heated. How can we get it resolved?? Can we use DIY method as I being in India, it will not be economical to send the parts outside country for repair.
Or can we go to some electrician shop for binding of motor.

I don't know if I was clear enough in my previous message, therefore just want to clarify that I got an Armature replaced.

Bad field coil

Well, that machine is just a little over a year old, so it should still be under warranty. If you continue to use it with a bad field, then the new armature you put in it is going to be ruined, if it isn't already. How did you get the armature covered under warranty? The field will have to be replaced, and possibly the armature again as well, if the picture you posted of it is the new armature. If you can't get Kirby service under warranty, then maybe you can find a shop that specializes in electric motors, and they could rebuild your field for you. But I fear that the cost to do that will be astronomical. Good luck.

Considering your views, I have called for a new motor altogether. The above is of old Armature. I have not used the new replaced Armature yet and will keep it as spare, since I will be putting new motor.

Can you also guide me on following:
If I run my Kirby for approx 4 hours every day for 200 days in a year, then in how any year shall I change the motor.
You can also give few other maintenance tips.
