Hey

I put tradition axle and green wheels on d80. The pic I have 519 motor housing cover with wide wheels. I realized when using extender screws with wide wheels toe touch flexed left wheel in meeting stabilization. I put tradition axle with green wheels and wide wheels I'm using on all blue conversion. That there is only one setup that is the best for d80. The tradition axle wide front wheels and back the machine is level and lowering nozzle it's only set up the nozzle plate hits carpet everywhere. Only wide front balance is off from the back. Big back wheels small front you basically get front heavy lean like muscle cars. Extender screws flex not balance. It seals and it's level and wide tires gives great balance. This making it most efficient way

Hey

I don't feaux it. I'm not spelled correctly but no suggestions on auto correct. My d80, is all green. My 519 all blue. I'm Frankenstein it but common sense. The 519 I just have parts for a vacuum so I bought blue it's a 519 tradition.
It's having parts making it functional.
But wider axle does help in my opinion.

I watched your videos again. I must say holy cow your vacuums are in awesome running condition. You can just hear metal humming on d80 fan. The heritage sounds kind of like a jet motor sucking in air. Those vacuums sound very solid. I'd hope mine may sound similar. My 2 traditions sound like that and both legend 2 sort of but the wider nozzle not as much air. Very nice. I also have magic finger sticker on I bought belt lifter NOS never opened and it's going on nozzle. I already attached front wheels back wheels are not on yet but very sweet video.

Les,

When I made that first video of my D80, at the time, the motor sounded like as though either one or both the internal motor bearings were dry. I had them be replaced in 2016, so if you watch this video, it sounds less dry than before:

(skip between 0:36 and 1:46 to watch cleaner in hose mode)

Hey

Uh I'd didn't sound dry. My d80 sounds dry on my video holy cow. The video is awesome I can't tell much of a difference. Do you have metal fan on d80. Do you have amodel on your grandparents heritage.
I'm about to post a bunch of pics of com vac and American Lincoln. I took it completely apart so you see every part. I have not analyzed any. I just have them saved I'm thinking heritage motor and single speed coil d89 bearing plate . I have pics.

Les,

Yes, my D80 still has the metal fan.

As to my grandparents' 1985 Heritage II, no, but it is the similar 11-blade gray Lexan fan.

I saw all your Super-Sweep disassembly pictures and, I noticed the armature is exactly the same one used on the D80 (part number 114967), while the field coil was unique to your machine (part number 103977). Bearing plate is exactly the same, too.

Hey

I'm not sure who made Kirby's motors and coils. I know it switched between lamb and ge. I know switch was during d50 or d80 that is why I had issues w d80s before. I don't know but the coil looks similar to my early nineties 6 amp royal. Im thinking coils for royal and Kirby single speed made by same company any my guess is ametech lamb. Just a guess.

I just got my 13 inch Nozzle. I borrowed the belt off my heritage II’s Standard 16 inch nozzle. I am very satisfied with it. It seems to groom the carpet better, and it actually cleaned my carpet, more in depth than the standard nozzle. Plus you can Vacuum narrower spaces. I love it!

Les,

I forgot to say that this was the very first video I made of my small head Heritage II nozzle. It is being demo'ed on my grandparents' 1985 Heritage II. Filmed on September 18, 2014:
