Hello everyone.
I was at a yard last weekend and came across a Singer R5. It looked so cool that I couldn't resist buying it with the intention of reselling it. My internet search to learn more about this old beauty has begun. I'm excited to find your forum and love seeing everyone's enthusiasm as collectors. Some of you have gorgeous restored machines from all eras.
My R5 looks like all parts are original, but the cord is missing its plug so I'm not able to test if it fires up or not. Plus someone took the handle apart and put the circular piece back together upside down (which is easy enough to fix). The bag is original with a small tear and very fragile. Overall the foundation is in good shape and seems complete. Handle tips back, wheels roll nice, etc, but again I have no idea if it would work.
I've uploaded a photo. Any advice about the value of it as-is or leads on someone who might want it for parts would be appreciated.
Thanks! Alexis
