Simplicity Timeline

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I absolutely can. I worked at the factory where Simplicity was made for over 10 years. It started in 1989 with the model 5000 in white, the 5200 in red, and the 5500 commercial in gray. It ended 4 years ago with Kristie Tacony Humes destroying the company.

They didn't just only sold the Sentry III line up. Not to mention there was the 4800 in grey, another 5200 but in white and blue, and the 5300 is the red one. They've also sold the 6 Series, 7 Series, Freedom, Synchrony, Synergy, Symmetry, central vacs, canisters, stick vacs, hand vacs, carpet cleaners, etc.

Hmm

What about riccar? What about carpet pro, fuller brush for a few years? When did they take over the design from panasonic?

After the contract expired for Fuller brush, Tacony decided to start selling vacuums under the Titan brand. They also ditched the Carpet Pro brand and have Simplicity as the new lower end brand. Riccar is still the higher end brand like what Simplicity used to be. And Riccar started making Panasonic copy cats in the late 80's after the partnership ended, 1986 I believe.

Last week I contacted Tacony via email requesting a models list of Simplicity & Riccar vacuums but have not heard back.
