SIMPLICITY SYMMETRY/RICCAR VIBRANCE vs HOOVER WINDTUNNEL SUPREME NON SELF PROPELLED

Hi guys, how do these two vacs above compare?? Do you all think the simplicity symmetry/riccar vibrance perform better on deep plush carpets, with the aggressive agitation, steel roller bar with stiff bristles OR
do you all think the hoover windtunnel supreme NON self propelled with its Windtunnel Technology and semi-centered suction inlet performs better? I've actually tested the windtunnel to lift the corner end of an area rug and it does... to where the simplicity symmetry does not; could that mean that the Windtunnel may have more airflow due to their "3" channels of suction? Both groom the carpet very well. Just want some feedback on your experiences with both these "clean air" uprights.

IMHO.....

You are trying to compare Apples to Oranges. The Simplicity and Riccar are a different class of machine than the Hoover. Iv'e never tried a Simplicity, but I have used a Riccar Radience and the Hoover Windtunnel Supreme (my brother has one). The Tandem Air Riccar (with both motors running) has agitation/airflolw almost as good as my Kirby Sentria. My brother's 1 year old Windtunnel Supreme (with new bag)Takes almost twice as many passes to clean the same room as my Kirby. The agitation just isn't there on the Hoover. The biggest question you need to ask yourself is: which machine is most likely to be in good working order 10 years from now.

And the answer to that is obviously the simplicity. But ur riccar radiance is a tandem air machine I was asking along the lines of bypass clean air system which is more common than a tandem air

Why don't i try this i still have a windtunnel supreme sitting in my trunk i can use the Simplicity 7 for comparison. the windtunnel pulls an 8 on the guage and the simplicity 7.5 so in terms of flow there's a slight difference but i do feel like the simplicity does have better agitation.

Based on my experience, the Simplicity will both work better and last longer. As far as agitation goes, I think it does a better job than everything except a Sanitaire, Eureka with VG1/VG2 or a Royal with brush stiffeners, and even with Kirby.

The Windtunnel setup has some theoretical advantages, but they're just that in most cases. All else being equal the center air inlet would be better - but all else isn't equal.

yes i think that does a have a good advantage because you have more equal airflow across the nozzle as oppose to just the right side.
it would be awesome if Tacony resurrected their version of the Hoover Convertible.. just simple direct "dirty air" fan, with their aggressive agitation, and a good filtration inflatable soft bag. you know just nice n simple like back in the day.

Actually, the "Convertible workalike" is pretty much what the Simplicity Freedom and Riccar Supralite are. They *look* like an Oreck, but are quite a lot more powerful. No attachments, but then, that's the tradeoff.

Sanitaires are also a credible option in the "simple direct-air with bag" model. There's a reason janitorial services love those (and Royals).

i meant more of a full size vacuum like sanitaire

the freedom/supralites are great.... way better than Oreck... oh well only time will tell hopefully all these collectors will push ideas to tacony or other mfrs..

Tacony already has a collector pushing ideas onto them. Wait until you guys see the new canister vacs being launched at the VDTA trade show this year. So many things from the glorious past of vacuums are now a part of those models. I am not permitted to show pics or talk about them, but trust me, you all will be first in line to buy one.
