It's one of the short lived Hoover Turbopower Freedoms, a bagless machine so leaky that in the end Hoover offered a kit to allow it to use paper bags. That might explain why this unconverted example is so filthy - bear it mind it got a bit of a rinse on the way to my car thanks to a cloudburst! Can't argue for a fiver though. Isn't it disgusting? Haven't run it yet, as it did get a wee bit wet!
But after a wipe down, she looks in very good shape! Very little scuffing - this picture doesn't do her any justice. The tools are missing and the lower cord hook has snapped, but other than that she's lovely. Don't suppose anyone has any spare nozzles knocking around? Funnily enough, I found a TP Freedom a couple of years back, at swapped it for a Hoover Senior hood - I didn't get the better side of the bargain there! Even though TPs aren't really my thing, I reckon this one is a keeper! Now to find the matching Turbomaster...

Great find and agree it has to be a keeper. They will be future collectables for sure. I have one in my collection. Your one looks to be in good shape think I may also have a spare tools in the correct colour in the storage centre. will have a look today when I'm thier.
Here's a pic of my one along with a couple of other Hoover future collectables, the TM Freedom, TM soft bag and the Senso Audio 300. Got to love a vacuum that talks.

Hey Tom, the best thing about this cleaner is that there are glitter flakes in the plastic! A very camp touch.
Mark, thanks for the offer! I was having a look on spare part websites, it's such a novelty to own a cleaner where you can still get so many bits! I'd argue that the cleaners in your photo are definitely collectibles already. I don't think I've ever seen one of those late Sensotronics before, certainly not the talking version! It's like Hoover equivalent of Knight Rider, even down to that shape and colour, hehehe!
The good news about mine is that she runs perfectly, even the headlight bulb still works! Judging by this, the state of the filter (which has very little rubber gasket left on it) and the fact that the whole cleaner was so filthy inside and out, it looks like it was cared for, but well used! The handle was a bit stiff to lower at first, and the top cord hook won't swivel, but she fairly purrs along. I really like it!
I'll be fiddling with her at some point, ISTR that on my other Freedom, dust seemed to leak worst from where the dirt tube sits against the dust box, so I may try modding her a little to solve this. Even if I can't fix this though (Hoover certainly couldn't), she's a machine to treasure!

Thanks, but have to say I think you have the best Hoover collection I have ever seen. I would kill for some of the machines you have, the Penney machines from the vault are just great. I had to get the smelling salts outs after looking at your pictures in the other link. Great to see so much of Hoover's history saved by you, I can think of no better home for them to go to.

Hoover had some models of the Windtunnel here that had the "flakes" embedded in the plastic. It almost looked metalic.

Thanks for your kind comments. I am very proud to have some of the pieces that were once housed in the famous Hoover "vault". I intend to take very good care of this piece of Hoover history. I still like the way you have your machines photographed. Who would not like to have a huge Hoover logo in their house!!!

Great to hear she running so well and I agree about the colour, it's great. You can still get the filters for the freedoms on some of the UK spares websites I'm going to order a couple and pick them up when I'm over in the London next month.
Here's another odd future hoover collectible the Aquatronic 1100, well I think it will be.

great find and price! Can i ask which part of Bournemouth you visited? I live in Bournemouth during term times, and love charity shop and vacuum shopping. I did go in one furniture and electricals charity shop in Winton..only a filthy old Panasonic for £15 there though!

Mark, I think that is definitely collectible already too! I'm suprised the Aquatronic wasn't more popular, you would have thought a 3-in-1 cleaner that looked like a normal cylinder would have sold very well. I wonder if it was flawed in any way? ISTR there was only one version of the Aquatronic made.
Rob, I swear by Boscombe (about a mile east of the town centre) for charity and junk shops! Have had several good finds in that area over the years - the place I got the TPF from is called 'Floggit and Leggit' (honest!) and is just west of the pedestrianised bit of Christchurch Road. Also got a really nice condition Russell Hobbs K2 kettle for £2.50, and some 1970s H1 bags for a quid! Just avoid the local smackheads...
