So, contacted my " local" Aerus guy, they have different bags since the last box I got ages ago, the to the door guy retired, of course. If I bring the machine to them they will pop off the cord winder and inspect the brushes, ect, free. Or if we/ I determine it needs service its $199. New bearings, brushes, clean fans and refurb cordwinder. Opinions?

199 seems like a really expensive price. The warrenty isnt needed. Its an electrolux, It will last a LOT longer than the 3 year warrenty. The bearings and brushes are easy to replace and cheep to get, and its easy to clean the fans. The only thing that is expensive is the cord winder, and that isnt 200 bucks. If you can, you should try to service it your self. It would be a fun project.

Silverado service (at $199 !!)

This could be a good deal for an Elux that had hard use and is having problems. Or for someone that just spent $1000 to service the Bentley and is looking for another project to spend money on. But in your case we know you have used proper bags and know how to use and not abuse it. Also assume you do not clean a 10 bedroom house or 3 story motel. So if it works well, sounds good, cleans well, etc this would be a high price for a vac that might need minimal if any service not to mention the time, trouble and distance before you get it back. Most problems will be related to worn hoses which are easily found when needed or very minor items. Your Silverado could be a case of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'

Am just curious if the brushes bearings and fan are ok, there is a slight shudder on coast down at the end, been there for years. Physically I can not open it up anymore, so I tend to not use it as much fearing that it may need service.
