I took it apart today to clean the fan because it had some nasty stuff stuck to it and I was wondering if I should oil the lower motor bearing or leave it alone? It sounds a little dry to me, but i dont know? any help will be appreciated! THANKS!!!!!

about grease...

1. Remove the armature and motor housings
2. Remove bearing and plate
3. Remove black seal on bearing
4. Spray WD 40 in bearing and rotate
5. Thoroughly dry bearing
6. Pack bearing with grease
7. Put seal back on bearing and put motor back together

I was vacuuming with it this morning and it started making this noise, kind of a knocking noise and I thought it was the brush, so I took the belt off and the noise went away. then I put the belt back on and of course the noise started again. I put the brush from one of my other Convertibles in it and I thought the noise had stopped but then it started making a different sound, kind of a rattle, But it is definitely coming from the motor:( what should I do?? I actually think the noise is coming from the top of the motor.
