Should I go for this?

Hi I was looking at this Vacuum Cleaner on Gumtree, is it a Hoover Junior? I'm only familiar with more modern vacuums. Anyway it's only a tenner, should I go for it? Any info about it?

Hi Tom, this is a 70's model. I believe these came out about 71/72 and ran until 78 when they were replaced by the top fill bag models.

They're fantastic cleaners on carpet, though this one does look like it needs a damn good clean and the bag is a generic replacement.

Top-fill came in 1975 when the U1012 Junior replaced this one. In 1978 the "new" flat-belt junior U1036 replaced that as the main-sale model, although the U1012 carried on as an excljusive line for catalouges for goodness knows how many years after that.
