Look at those cars, that building. 1958. I wasn't even a thought, but, can you imagine how many cleaners that hotel purchased? ..just like so many others.
I wonder how many vacuums a hotel buys for itself? How many for each floor..plus the 'common areas". I know some are long gone. When I worked in the Philadelphia burbs, a men's clothing store was closing. "All fixtures for sale".. I went in. I got beautiful cedar hangers for a buck. I asked about the vacuum..they had two of these commercial Hoovers. The man said, "Gee, never thought about the sweeper. How about ten bucks"? I used that thing in my studio for years. Now, it's here in the collection. A true workhorse!
