I'm working on a Hoover 6.7amp Elite U4511-900 for a customer. It was not happy so I took it apart and the fan is shattered, not broken, not cracked, but cracked up in a bunch of pieces barely holding togetehr. Ordered a new one, so all will be well, but I am curious - how much force, or, what do you have to suck up to break the fan?

Broken fan

Maybe he sucked up a bullet? My friend David uses his Kirby to vacuum out his truck and he's a gun lover. I hope he never does. Im surprised someone hasn't done it yet on Youtube.....Bill in Az.....

I sucked up a B B once and shattered a beloved Convertible's fan. I don't like Elites enough to have one, so can't comment on that, but if they are both made of plastic, probably the same things would shatter them!

I have my Riccar Supralite in the shop right now where I shattered the fan. I don't mean broke a fin, I mean it shattered so badly that pieces fell out the front of the machine.

I have been pushing fan first vacs all my life and have never broken a fan, this time I picked up a charm that had fallen off a necklace. It was laying just under the edge of the bed, I didn't see it until it had cost me $30.
