What a cool-looking vacuum!
Shark has really stepped up their game with this vacuum. This is arguably the most innovative vacuum ever created. I love the idea of it, being able to truly convert from an upright to a canister, with a powered brush roll and all! It'll be nice for getting around and UNDER furniture, the latter of which is an impossible feat with uprights.
This machine claims to have MORE SUCTION and BETTER CARPET CLEANING versus the $600 Dyson DC65?? This is madness! It amazes me that even Shark has bested Dyson's best of the best.
I, too, love the idea of a small, motorized power head. I don't think any vacuum manufacturer has produced any of these, with one exception. Back in the late '90s, Fantom Technologies released the Fantom Lightning canister vacuum. One optional accessory for that vacuum was a "Mini Powerhead" which featured a brush roll powered by its own independent motor. It's pretty cool that Shark is bringing back this design after all these years!
My only concern is that the vacuum is still single-cyclonic, meaning that it has to rely on the two filters behind the dust cup to trap the finer dust. The original Shark Navigator used 21-cyclone separation technology. However, starting with the Navigator Lift Away, they switched to single-cyclonic. Every Shark vacuum following the release of the Navigator Lift Away has included this technology. Why did they move to this design? I have no idea; you would have to ask Shark that.
That concern aside, enjoy your new Shark Rotator Powered Lift Away!
