I don't return things that often, but if they don't meet my expectations, I don't hesitate...

I used it a bit more today, and again, the power amazed me... I noticed that turning it on low speed only seems to change the brush speed... the suction seems to be the same no matter what speed the machine is on. The end cap blew off and so did the final filter as I was using it today... And the final filter is already filthy too!

The first filter is just filthy on the top, but the bottom of it looks like brand new... and I wanted to share the instructions on the lid that goes over the filter...

The pile in the background is what it got up on the second use... the little filter and end cap is what blew off.

This is the clean part of the filter... this is what the top part looked like before 2 uses... now it looks like the above picture!

yeah

yeah...those after filters on sharks always get dirty...its not exactly dirt, mainly just carbon dust

All the dirt that the single cyclone doesn't separate from the air, goes directly to the filter. On a proper cyclonic machine, that dust would be separated by the high efficiency cyclones. Shark's "no loss of suction" claim cannot be taken as accurate. In the test to be able to claim 'no loss of suction', the machine only has to inhale on bin full of dirt. As long as the suction and airflow change no more than 5%, they can make the claim. Most Shark owners do not clean their filters often, if at all. I can imagine how hot that tiny little motor will get when the filters are dirty.

This is why it would stand to reason to keep that Miele Quickstep in anyone's collections - I might have not found favour with it but I still keep it in my collection - the model serves a good purpose but Miele would make a killing here to offer a far lighter motor for the same kind of design as the Shark offers, but obviously keeping with the bag installed.

Wow! I want one! But the Dyson DC59 is a better vac and Im not surprised the DC41 is not as good performing as this, they dont clean as good as a DC04!
