I have a Miele C3 and a U1 and an old early 1990's Panasonic upright. My wife hates my Miele's... the U1 is too heavy and the C3 canister is just her thing. She does like and use the Panasonic, but we only leave it upstairs.
Scroll forward to a few weeks ago and I had my first vacuum impulse buy... a Shark Rocket Duo Clean Ultralight that was on sale at Costco. Despite my telling myself I would never own a bagless vacuum again this thing is pretty slick. It is lightweight, but will not stand upright on its own, you need to detach the head and mount it on the wand near the base when not in use. The interior carpet roller is easier to remove and clean than a Sebo. It is corded, so no need to worry about battery capability, and it does a pretty stellar job of cleaning hard floor and carpet. Its real purpose is for quick cleaning in the kitchen where I have both hardwood floors and area rugs, for which it is fantastic. It is very nimble and great at reaching nooks and crannies and has excellent lay-flat capabilites. It is pretty versatile for as small as it is. However today, about a month after ownership, I reminded myself why I do not like bagless… besides the multiple times of having to empty debris over the past month (which is relatively easy with this unit) once a month per the directions I am to wash out 3 separate filters and let them dry completely before re-installing. I had let the filters dry for a few hours and then reinstalled and started to use the vacuum and found droplets of water still being spit out of the exhaust vent. Lesson learned, but what a hassle.
Would I buy again? Probably as it is a clever, powerful and effective stick vac, but the maintenance of a bagless vacuum, especially this one with a small dirt container that has to be emptied after each room has its drawbacks.
BTW, my wife won't disclose whether she actually likes this vacuum... I still tend to be the one to break it out as I put it through its paces.
