Servis???? No Just Hoover!

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I had one of those!!!

'Twas a slightly lower-range model compared to the beige Hoover 'Freedom 1000 Electronic'.

Triple filtration: (single-wall dustbag, 1 foam filter, 1 synthetic filter). No exhaust filter, only a diffuser/noise reducer.

I liked it, it had reasonable performance, but was a little loud. The double-stretch hose was good.

There was also a later model...

...in a pale green colour, called the 'Spirit'. I cannot remember if it was an even more basic machine (I think it was).

Ya See

They couldnt even come up with an original name!!! just nick a well known alternative....say "Powerglide" to a collector and there is only one!!!! and whats powerful and glidable about it???
pretty colour though (and even that was nicked from the 1957 model)!!!

looks nice in the collection though boys well done, was it from the saturday market??

Even the colour was nicked from it as well, oh well there`s innovation for you!!

Nice one for the collection though Rob, was it from the Saturday market??

LOL!

Just had to pull this one on you Mike.

Was from a nice little hosueclearance shop, The only vac worth having at that from their little congregation.

We did nothing but piss ourselves sniggering yesterday knowing we were just gonna put this up on here and 'forget' to answer your text LOL.

We did have a good mooch around Warrington but nothing there except that Computer Control Exclusive which they still want far too much for.

Had a nsoey around Widnes and Runcorn but agin nothing like a spares shop or anything. Widnes Market was a good Vac stall with a good choice of bags and parts but nothing vintage. Some good prices on new vacs too we noticed with Mach 7s selling for £100 a piece new.

Nice find lads!

Good to see they're not extinct yet! There's something very 80s about those wheels... Colours aside, is there any real difference between the Spirit and the Powerglide?

Well done with the Freedom too, not ashamed to say I'm a bit green over that! But it's gone to a good home, that's the main thing...

Wonder where all the beige Freedom 1000s have gone? They seemed to be a permanent fixture in mail order catalogues at the time, but I don't recall ever seeing one pop up on Ebay...

Don't get haunted by that Spirit!

You know, that's a coincidence! I was only talking about Spirits and Powerglides on Hooverland the other day, after Chris posted a message saying how he'd like to see the Hoover Spirit manufactured again...

As for Warrington, that was quite close to my old territory...

Last year I collected a Hoover 425 from the motorway services near Lymn.
