True. Some are great, some not so much.

One advantage in a vac store is that most will have a very large variety of models and vacs for various price ranges.  You can see almosst, if not all models on the current market.  Some are assembled, warranties are registered for you, etc..

Then,  some will try to sell you a new machine, or a more expensive vacuum than you need.  Sometimes the bags, ec, are quite costly.

I've been in numerous shops. Customer service is very important.  Some dealers have served families for decades..... a sign of their knowledge and loyalty.  Others, truly will do anything to get you to buy, and not care about repeat business,  a 1-trick horse, if you will.

That goes for lawnmowers, TVs, major appliances, etc.

Good!Dysonman1 solved the mystery of the Morse vacuum.Think I would get a Taconoy machine instead! You can trust it.Don't know about that Morse----Will they be around that 10 years later if you want to replace your brush strips on the roller bar.And I don't think the strips will last no 10 yrs anyway.Watched the video clip again and no Fuller vacuums in sight-a Simplicity upright standing on a Sanitaire display base. And spotted the Morse upright on the Fuller display base.Think that demo-er is a real sleazball-don't go to his vac shop! The spider to the fly!Again that shop looks so sleazy! What goes on behind the white wall and black curtain??Probably many vacuums brought in for repairs are butchered there.

The video that panasonicvac posted was from 2012. Yet, the guy is using a DC07, which was disconinuted in 2008 or 2009. The DC41 would've already been out, which is much better than the DC07. I'm am NOT saying it is better than the Simplicity, but it is much better than the DC07.

So why not show the current model? Why use one that came out 10 years before the video was made, and was discontinued 3 or 4 years before the video was made? Yet again, comments are disabled for this video too...

Wichita KS Vacuum dealers

Kirbysthebest mentioned Kansas Vacuum Center. I think they used to be called House of Vacs. I worked at a bike shop in the same strip mall in 1989 and bought a Panasonic from the old man who ran it at the time. I went in to by a Riccar if I remember right. Had planned to spend $400. Left with a new Panasonic for $169. They were super honest then. I assume the original owner has passed and left the shop to new people who changed the name. Apparently they are still an honest business. Good to know...
Now I live in central Texas. From what I've seen around here I'll take my chances on Amazon. Honest shops can be few and far between, but if you find one spend money there and keep them alive.
