Okay, before this moron was destroying relatively new plastic upright vacuums, but this time he's gone too far! Now, he's destroying vacuum cleaner history....

'Seriously, somebody's gotta stop this guy!'

Who, and how?

By creating this thread, and posting a link, you're handing out free tickets to his 'show' to its target audience.

A hired publicist couldn't do better at promoting this guy!

Well, I frown on others for advertising eBay auctions on this site, I guess in a way now I'm guilty of doing the same thing. I just hope this bastard dies of a drug overdose before any more vintage vacuums are lost. Let's let this thread die....

I keep saying

that he's going to electrocute himself. It could happen yet. He's NOT very bright, as we have seen in the past.....

Saw about 6 seconds of this.

An upright Air-Way is too rare for people to be trashing em. I knew where this was going as soon as he picked it up. I don't need to see this abuse. How do we stop him? By not watching, or doing what I did, hitting the delete button. To say he's a moron is an understatement. I for one will stay away.

Alex Taber a lover of Air Way uprights!

'This video....need to be swept from YouTube...'

The guy hasn't broken any laws. He has every right to do what he's doing, whether or not we like it. Censoring people whose views or actions we don't agree with has a name - and comes with a price.

Just - please! - stop giving him an audience! How many extra views has he received as a result of this thread being started? Views he wouldn't have got if we'd taken the course of action suggested every other time the attention of this forum has been drawn to him - and just ignored him?!

I agree about censorship, Vingagehoover. I just want to point out that just because something doesn't break a law doesn't mean it isn't wrong. I don't like what he did either, but it isn't my place to say if what he was doing was wrong. He wasn't directly hurting another person... he was doing something with a piece of property that he apparently owned. Of course I still cringed when I saw what he was doing to THAT machine, and his attitude is awful.

'...just because something doesn't break a law doesn

I agree as a general rule for life (leaving aside the fact that moral 'right' and 'wrong' are matters of opinion anyway!), but that fact doesn't really come into making decisions as to whether or not other people's videos should be removed from YouTube. The videos either break YouTube's rules, or they don't. And if they don't, we have every right to dislike them, but there's not a lot we can do!

I don't understand this "smasher" either-he is the same man that destroyed a nice WPDD washer on some of his video clips.I have seen some of his other clips where he destroyed a Hoover Celebrity vacuum-was in nice shape-and a Singer Canister. It too was in nice condition. He and his fans delight in destroying collector items. And he gripes when others "copy" his smash videos to other YouTube accounts. What about when Mr.Smasher copies Video game music and video clips to HIS account-isn't that violating the video-computer game manufacturers copyrights? And this creaton has destroyed many nice Kirbys.this guy comes and goes-one time he deleted all of his videos then reuploaded them later and under a different account. The AirWay videos have been on for some time-guess it was now that another Vacuumland member saw it.I didn't upload it at the time I saw it since I knew it would upset Vacuumland folks.I WOULD have paid $5 for that vacuum at a yard sale!!!When he first started it the motor sounded real good-and the bag was in good condition. The inner one was a diffrent story-was packed!

I am with Jack on this one

I saw the vid he posted about smashing up the washer that had been posted as a thread on Automaticwasher. I only watched a few seconds of this but it was clear to me from his dialogue that he was getting a kick out of upsetting collectors.

I agree with Jack that by posting messages about these videos we are helping him achieve his aim, which is wrecking old applicances and upsetting folks. So please, not more postings about this w**ker, sometimes it is better not to know. And besides, once the vid has been made, its too late to do anything about it.

Yes he is a F**kwit, yes its terrible what he is doing, yes we promote him by watching his vids - so lets not do it

On a lighter note, did Woody Allen not do a very funny routine about a guy who "abused" a blender or a toaster or something like that once - as I recall it the abuse was unintentional.

Just a matter of time

Until this guy gets an eye poked out, or a digit chopped off.

On a positive note, what a testament to how Air-Way used to build vacuums. 1932, plugged it in and after he took off the bad, had great suction. You could see a bit of tape blowing around in the exhaust stream and hear the force with which it propelled the rocks at the junk pile. Also, look how long it ran with him throwing rocks into the fan, my guess is that a modern vac could not take near that abuse.

Let him stay at it, won't be long until he's a gonner.

Good riddence to bad rubbish

This bozo, not the Air-Way. Would be interesting if he put his fingers in the fan chamber!

No I didn't watch more than 3 seconds, then clicked back to our main page. I have no interest in seeing this creep. You guys are telling me all a need to know without having to watch this idiot. You guys are right, he's a MORON!

He's not done yet-on his website he shows a clip of an Electrolux "G"Beautiful turquose one-with its motor jammed and burning up.The body of the machine is smashed. He doesn't show that part.Maybe he will burn his place down from the shorted and jammed motors overloading his home wiring!Yes that AirWay was tough-made a good rock crusher!was a bad end for a nice vacuum!

Let's balance out all this negativity...

Everyone who has an Air-Way upright, post pics here!!

Here are 2 which will NOT be getting wrecked:

hey Jack

Nice airways!
never seen that dizer though, was that made under licence in Britain? reminds me of those dust bustler things we had over hear all that time ago

Charlie

Hi Charlie - nice to see you posting on here at last!

The Dizer is a fascinating machine. It was manufactured under licence by the M.C. Dizer Company.

Malcolm C Dizer originally came to the UK in 1919 under the employ of Hoover, to help set up Hoover's operations in this country. At some point later, presumably in the early 30s, he decided to get into the vacuum business on his own, and bought the rights to manufacture the Air-Way upright in the UK under the 'Dizer' name. However, it isn't actually a direct copy; in fact, there's not a single shared component between the two machines!

STOP COMPLAINING

if i hear one more person complaning about my friend i"ll start smashing vintage vacuums
and i'm not fucking around i"ll go to ebay and buy as many vintage vacuums as i can
he does these videos for 2 reasons:
1.THEY ARE BROKEN
2.HE HAS DEPRESSION YOU ASSHOLES
also some vacuum collectors actually like his videos and some of those people are on this site right now

That's just fanning the flames, Marshall. It is never appropriate to use the kind of language for one, and If you feel we should stop complaining in a thread that was last posted in in 2009, there's a much more subtle way to do it.
