Seriously people are nuts on ebay sometimes

So as usual I do my daily search on eBay mainly for parts and vintage machines and came across this posting. What is this person thinking? I understand the 63 is a great machine and I have one all original. I do not understand how people like this can ask so much on eBay like this listing when it has no bag no brushroll or attachments??? I just got a original model 29 with rare original bag for $40 that was even with shipping this seller is nuts if he thinks someone is going to pay his asking price.

I have to say those types of listings mystify me as well. I think sometimes people will put things up for auction with a ridiculously high reserve bid just to get a free appraisal of what the thing might be worth. Others, like this seller, may just be trying to show off what they've got and aren't really all that interested in selling. It could be his wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever is trying to make him get rid of some stuff and so he's just going through the motions.

My favorites are the ones that offer the item for next to nothing, hoping you won't notice the astronomical shipping charge until after you've committed to buy. Under that scenario, if you tried to return the item, they'd refund you the minuscule purchase price only and keep most of your money that you paid for "shipping".

One thing's for sure, it's a caveat emptor world out there...

I paid $4.54 for my 63 and got my 29 for free, both of which I've posted pictures of on Vacuumland.

Yesterday it also had an aftermarket eureka bag on it...hence the ugly screw holes on the back of the cleaner.

What is with that EBay seller-what is he taking or smoking-A DIRTY,Bagless(in a different way)Hoover vacuum on a DIRTY peice of carpet!!!!He will have to PAY me to take it!This why I STAY AWAY from EBAY-or EGYP-EROOK!!!Whoever buys that machine for that price will certainly get Rooked-Does the dirty peice of rug come with it???After all a Dirty Hoover to vacuum the Dirty rug!!!
