I wonder if the people who are bidding this machine up and up and up realize it has a bojack replacement bag (which is secured to the exhaust port with what appears to be a rubber band), and that the "attachment apron" and attachments are from another vacuum cleaner (Federal). That hose will not connect to the S&F machine, and the attachment set is incomplete and mismatched. The metal coupler there looks like an early Hoover attachment.

I hate to agree with him, but the last poster got it right! Just think that I was going to let it slide...Oh well!

Good luck selling your old junky, mismatched vacuum you found at an estate sale & made up your "oh, it's from a vacuum collector's estate" story. Ya, RIGHT! As if a vacuum collector would have mismatched parts with their vacuums! Next time you come on here trying to sell something, please do a bit of research before putting something up for sale, so you know what you're selling & neither you nor your buyer gets screwed over.

I've acually been watching this from the moment it was listed, trying to decide if it was worth going for, given the condition issues. If nothing else, maybe a good source for parts for a better example?

'old junky,mismatched vacuum"??

We have all heard that 'one man's trash(or junk)is another man's treasure'.And perhaps to some 'mismatched'attachments can mean bonus needed parts for other vacs.
--I once saw an AirWay 66 in a small antique shop that was close to junky but had a mismatched early 50s Westinghouse rug nozzle. They would not separate and I passed it up.I now have a few Westinghouse tanks but have never again found that nozzle.I would now value the nozzle at more than the asking price of the AW.--
Charles correctly pointed out the facts on the above vac.We now have gone to calling the EBay seller a liar("made up story").Let us look at the word 'estate' in estate sale. That means the previous owner or owners are dead and can not tell the sellers of the estate what came with or goes with what.Do we not all have unfinished vacs or some stored beside wrong parts. If we were hit by a bus today what would buyers at our estate sale be told?
It is always good to have facts on a vac or parts as Charles pointed out.And a buyer can make a decision if it is 'trash or treasure'.But do we need to question or decide a persons basic truthfulness when they are offering merchandise that anyone may decide to buy or not?

To me I think it's a great vacuum and for its age it wouldn't surprise me if it had mix match parts on it. I wouldn't mind having it it has a lot of character.
