In see it clean the model 60 look a lot like a 913 or is it just my poor eyesight? if they are simular What were the differences besides the years ?

yes, suds, they are very similar because the 90 was based on the 60. came out in 1940. used the same motor, i believe. they accept the others agitator (with minor change). bag rings latch onto either machine. the 913-style (90/91/913/918/u7037) had a lifespan similar to the Maytag Master Wringer washer. both ran until the early 80s, 83, i think?

Yes...the model 90 Commercial cleaner ran from 1940-1982 being replaced by the Conquest line of cleaners. There were really only cosmetic changes to the models 91,913,918,918-01, and the U7037. The Commercial models had steel reinforced corners and heavier duty wheels etc. The model 60,61,62,63,634,64 were "prettier" versions and cleaned well too. The "60 series" ran from 1940 to 1957. The household versions fit the buyer's decor and weighed less!

Your Commercial Hoover is beautiful, David!

1978 !

Hey Mate

That must be one of the last 912As- I think the U7008 replaced it in 78?????- Presumably the 913 became the U7037? at the same time. Ive always found it strange that the US versions didnt have the metal dirtfinder grid!

Did the US ones not have a dirtfinder grid?! I'd always assumed the ones I'd seen had just lost them during years of heavy-duty service! I suppose it's due to safety laws in the UK - without the grid, and with the bulb removed, it would be possible to touch the live contact plate in the bulb socket quite easily, as with the 160/262. With the 612, it's possible to touch the field coils by inserting a finger through the front cooling duct...all very dangerous, of course!
