It's already here

Well they're not for sale yet. If you go to Sebo USA's facebook page, there is a photo of the X7 spotted from this year's VDTA.

Hi everyone! I thought I would just check back in on this thread to see if those of you in the vacuum industry have any more news regarding the SEBO X7. I imagine that it's just around the corner. Any of you know the official release date? Thanks!

Anxiously awaiting the X7,
broomvac

From what I’ve herd from SEBO they are waiting on final approvals for UL and other listings that you need to have to sell electrical appliances.

I talked to John Van Leuven, CEO of SEBO America a while ago. We're expecting to have the X7 and X8 ready by the end of this year. Dealers will be notified when they're ready for order. We're also expecting to have the new Essential G4 and G5 by the end of this year at least. And hopefully, we could have the BS 360 that would replace the now discontinued 370 comfort but it'll be months before the decision is finalized.

Thank you both for the info! It seems I’ll have to wait just a bit longer.

@panasonicvac Are the Essentials G4 and G5 based on the X7 and X8, respectively? I’d assume that they have a manual height adjuster. Will they use the new and improved exhaust filter that the X7 and X8 use?

Thanks again!

According to John, the new G4/G5 machines are identical to the old G1/G2, except that the bag housing is restyled and they have electronic shut-off only (like the X4/X5), instead of having electronic plus a bypass valve. The manual height adjustment will still be there, too. Therefore, there is not much difference between the old and new models.

You’re in for a treat, broomvac! I have the X7 Pet, it’s a fantastic vacuum. The increased sealing around the brushroll has really concentrated the suction more, it certainly sticks to the carpet more so than the older models, but Sebo have added 3 suction release holes to the sole plate so that it glides easily on thick carpets

@broomvac that picture was taken at SEBO Americas headquarters inside their conference room.

I wouldn't expect any Black Friday deals from any reputable manufacturers of such a SEBO.

The wait got the better of me.

So...I might have just dropped four digits on one of these😬. $949 plus tax. I know, I’m crazy, but I’ve never done this before. That makes it ok, right? Lol.

It should get here on Monday. Hopefully, they are sending the right color. I ordered one described and pictured as the “X7 Premium in white,” but then I saw in the description that it is model is listed as 91543AM, which is the grey model. If it turns out to be the grey one, I’ll exchange it.

Nevertheless, I’m incredibly excited and will be sharing it with you all once I have it in my hands!

@turbo500

I’m very glad that you enjoy your X7! I bought the premium model with ‘boost,’ just like yours has.

Other than the motor, I wonder if there will be any differences from the U.K. model.

Update

So, an American X7 has arrived...in the wrong color. 😖 This one is going back unopened and the right one is on the way.

In the meantime, I can confirm the following details. Since (last I checked) it seems that all of the info, other than the pictures, on Sebo’s site is just carry over from the X4, this tag confirms many of the details about the X7. We now know for sure that it draws 1300 watts and includes a dusting brush with holder!

Can’t wait for mine to arrive!

First?

I might be the first to show the the world—ok, maybe just Vacuumland—an American Sebo X7.

I love it. I’d write more, but I’m too busy vacuuming. Will come back with more later!

@vacuumdevil

Thank you and sorry for the delayed reply!

I really love using this vacuum. For my new home, it’s perfect. I bought this having never used a Sebo X-series vacuum before, so a few things surprised me

1) The proportions of the vacuum are unlike those of most American machines. The Sebo is the tallest vacuum I’ve ever had and has a narrow head, making it quite maneuverable.

2) This vac has some suck! Don’t let videos of the European X7 mislead you; this 1300W+ American model holds its own.

3) The automatic height adjuster actually is convenient. I’ve come to appreciate the system which Sebo has put in this vacuum. It seems to have some kind of (perhaps rudimentary, but still effective) PID controller whose input is the RPM of the intermediate pulley, and in the end, it works well. It makes the same decisions I would make, lowering the head for the more crushed portions of the carpet and raising the head for the less trafficked areas. I’d say that Sebo did a good job striking the balance between minimizing carpet wear and cleaning effectiveness.

I’ve had several Míeles before, but this is my first Sebo. Sorry; I can’t really compare this vacuum’s control system to that of the X4, X1.1, or X1, but the X7 doesn’t seem “fickle” like the older ones are sometimes characterized.

Incidentally, I suspect that the vacuum looks for elevated RPM to determine when the bag is full. I’d be surprised if it actually measures pressure anywhere.

Boost is fun, but I think that the vacuum does well without it, too. Without boost, the vacuum was able to make the lines in the pic below. Honestly, I never really use boost.

Overall, I’m very happy with it!😁
