Just thought I'd do a quick thread on my new Sebo. I've jumped ship from Kirby for the time being and the Sebo is my new daily driver!
I'd originally gone to John Lewis and was planning on buying their 'exclusive' X4 Excel machine at £279.99. However once I got there this plan went out the window and I admitted to myself that I wouldn't be happy if I didn't have the top X4 model LOL
So I walked away with the X4 Pet Eco Boost for £309.95. I also picked up a spare box of the ultra bags and a spare exhaust filter.
I didn't think the boost feature would be something I'd use, but now that I've got it I'm glad that I spent that bit more as its actually really good.
For those of you that don't know anything about the Sebo X range there is the entry level X1.1 Eco.
The next model up is the X4 Extra Eco and this comes with everything the X1.1 does plus a dusting brush and stair cleaning hose. The John Lewis Excel Eco model is the same as the X4 Extra, just in a different colour scheme.
Then there is the X4 Pet Eco Boost. This comes with everything the X1.1 does plus an anti odour charcoal filter system, stair cleaning hose, upholstery/stair turbo brush and the boost button to give a deeper clean.
There is also an X5 Extra Eco... this is exactly the same as the mid level X4 other than it has a slightly wider cleaning path.
I hope I've summed that up clear enough LOL
Anyway, I've got to point out that given the X4 Pet is their highest spec machine in terms of extras, it does NOT come with a dusting brush!!! You'd think given the X4 Extra comes with one, the higher priced and overall higher spec Pet model would have one too.... but apparently not.
So back I went to John Lewis to buy the additional Sebo dusting brush with handle storage clamp.
I'm not going to do a hugely in depth review.... The automatic height system works well. Seems to adjust a lot better than the last X series machine I bought. Build quality is superb. The stair hose is more than long enough - TAKE NOTE MR DYSON!!!!!
It's the boost feature I want to show. In normal use it isn't really needed. And I've not found the need to use it in our house as the carpets never get that dirty. However I've been to clean for my grandparents today and the vacuuming was long overdue (they struggle with it due to age).... This is where the boost feature came into a world of its own as it allowed me to give the carpets a much more thorough clean.
Basically the boost feature is something you'd use on really trodden down carpets with lots of ground in dirt. Or maybe a particularly soiled entrance rug ect
It lowers the floor head a lot more than normal, however it is NOT an override for the automatic height adjustment. This still continues to monitor and adjust as needed, but at a greatly reduced level.... I've made two videos to hopefully give a clearer idea of how it works. They should be in ultra hi def 4K if your device will support 4K playback.....
