Sebo Professional G1 Rumbleing Problem.

The warranty is with your supplier, and they should collect and repair the item. If you don't speak German then I would suggest you type something in simple English and use Google translate to attempt to communicate.

You can contact Sebo Germany (the warranty is two years in Germany) and attempt to have the item rectified. Sebo do not have world wide warranty unlike Miele, Apple or other manufacturers. Your contact is always with the person you purchased the item with and NOT the manufacturer.

If you have already gone through diagnostics ok, otherwise try taking the hose off the machine and turn it on see if it still acts up. If not then you have some form of blockage and the machine is trying to hard and making the motor hot.

If you also take the top of the machine off and look through the two tubes that come up from the base and see if you can see all the way through.

Also of course take the brush off and make sure nothing is tangled up with it or blocking the suction part.

If you do this and it is still acting up then it is an electronics fault with either the board or the motor itself (most likely the board).

The reason the machine is getting hot is that it thinks there is an issue with suction and therefore is trying harder making the motor work harder. I also wouldn't use the machine because you are shortening the life of the motor by making it work harder.

I am having a similar problem with mine I purchased a little while ago, however mine it the check bag light that intermittently comes on and off.

Hey Spacey,

As far as contacting the seller goes, they haven't replied to any messages since the first one that made no sense. I'm not too bothered about that anyway.

As far as the problem itself goes, the motor isn't getting hot, Which is good. I have checked the suction hoses and can't see any blockages.

One question I have is, you say it's an electrical fault with the board... Well how can an electrical fault with the board make the motor move in such a way? It's clearly a mechanical problem surly? I can't understand how electrics on a Vacuum cleaner can make it shake and rumble?

Please expand if you can?

Many thanks.

An electrical fault would explain why it is switching off but not the vibrating noise. That is a mystery.
You must be a very chilled person to not be bothered, I would be furious!

Well I am no expert and only going on theory and what Sebo deduced as being the issue with ours. I have contacted my supplier who is happy to have it returned to them. However I would rather, like you get it repaired. I am not willing to pay for the repair since it is within guarantee.

The theory, if the machine believe a blockage exists then the motor will work harder to compensate, hence why the overworking of the motor, as to the vibration it is difficult to ascertain when it is not here in front of me.

I will chase Germany on Monday and see what they are planning to say on repairing it, if I have any joy I will be happy to let you know. As with regards to the retailer I am not aware were you bought it from so I can't comment.

Even if the board needs to be attended to, Rusty's G1 shouldn't need repairing when it is so new. There is obviously a fault somewhere, even on my old SM2 where NOTHING is trapped in the airways. Mine doesn't shut off but it rumbles most of the time even when in the correct height setting.

As for the motor getting hot- well it always gets hot anyway - can be felt on the top or at the back where the base plate and hood meet.

I tried mine last night - the rumble gets worse when the upright is made to go on its rear wheels - ie when I'm dragging the upright back and using the wand and short hose. I realised it sounds like the motor is hunting to find the right mode that it should be in.

I received some assistance from Sebo Germany, they seemed to diagnose the fault on mine as the comment I received back was this...

I guess the bypass valve should be checked, the position 107:

I havne't checked it - to be honest wouldn't know how to. Have just shipped the cleaner back to the supplier in Germany to fix or replace.

Poor post sale customer service;

Yes, not very "spitzenklasse" as is the Deutsche fashion.
If Mercedes did that, Cadillac would be kicking their butt in Europe.

Got outs back today fully fixed from Germany. They didn't actually say what they fixed on it, might open it up and take a look if I can be bothered but the people I got it from I would certainly buy again from them. They got it back on Thursday, shipped it back Friday and it arrived today.
