I just want one for now because I have never replaced the one in my G1. I did wash it sucessfully, but I don't know if it would stand repeated washing.
Great, if this German company actually places my order I have added 5 to the order so can always sort something out.
Not sure if I need to post another post - but have an issue with the X1 that we have, it's old (and limited edition Euronics Blue). I noticed when I used it today the servo up down part was having a bit of a fit. It would keep clicking and raising and lowering the head. Even when I placed the unit in the upright position to get the head to come up completely it was having an issue.
Any suggestions? I have put a new roller on the unit already.
It could be two things in my experience - either the roller belt inside the floor head is needing to be replaced or can come off unexpectedly. Or, the sensor wheel might need adjusting. There's a holding screw on the underside, undo it a little, don't take it out but switch it on after that and see if it improves.
Even if you don't post in a while, be sure to return to this forum as its a good way to share experiences and stuff.
Unscrewed the servo, nothing behind the wheel, nothing on the machine all looks ok. Does the servo have gears in it? It sounds like gear teeth not quite hooking (probably not describing it very well). If you are referring to the ribbon cable I have checked that on the PCB internally. I pulled the machine apart to check that the magnets where in the machine too. Also took the belts off and made sure no teeth where missing etc.
It was the servo for the unit, I swapped it with the X4 one and it worked. Seems they are compatible. I will take the old one apart and see if anything is repairable inside (according to Sebo it isn't you need a new one at £39).
My new G1 is being picked along with all the other things I ordered so hopefully will have it soon.
Servo part should be easy to get. Phone SEBO UK (part number can be found in their downloadable user manuals). Avoid Espares UK as they charge an earth!
I am not spending £40 on a new servo from Sebo, it's far too expensive for what it is. Anyway pulled it apart, seems it is just a bunch of gears, none have worn or broken teeth. Will try and fix it next week, if I can.
The G1 is a cleaner I've considered buying. Fantastic performance on carpet, extremely reliable, cheap to run easy to maintain but the fact that it doesn't work on hard floors puts me off a little.
If you have more than one vacuum, why should it matter if it can't do hard floors? Mine seems to have no problem but then I don't mind using a brush roll ON hard floors.
If you have more than one cleaner it's not a problem but not everyone can afford more than one cleaner. The G1 doesn't clean hard floors well its doesn't have the squeegy that the X series has so spits the particles everywhere.
Sounds to me then that you are trying to gain reactions rather than actually make a statement of possible purchase. After all, you appear to already own "...Miele S5, S8, Sebo Felix, Numatic Henry.."
I doubt you would win anything extra already owning a SEBO Felix. Okay, a bigger bag and that side wand is all that you'll miss out on.
I'm just saying that the G1 doesn't do well on hard floors which is true.I sang it's praises. If you just want one cleaner snd you have hard floors the G1 might not be the right choice. I don't need to do much to get a reaction on here just mention Dyson that will do it. Haha
