My opinion is that a lot of U.S buyers who have PN added canisters already have probably seen the D4 or tried it and either don't like it because it's better made, does look a lot bulkier or because it's more expensive, or a bit of both.
As you know Venson I'm not a huge fan of canisters with PN nozzles. I think the whole concept defeats the purpose of remaining lightweight and the D series normally is about the same weight as the Miele S5, it's rival with only a little more weight added because of the much longer power cord that the D was designed to hold.

Don't like it because
It's better made? It's at the very root of the core of basic human nature to acquire and be attracted to the best "made" and highest quality product there is. Look at attraction to the opposite gender - same thing. So I have a hard time believing anyone would dismiss the purchase of a D4 because it's a superior product.
Do you mean that because it's more EXPENSIVE BECAUSE it's better made? That's logical, otherwise lolwut
But yeah I think the D4 looks like an incredible machine and would love to use one and if I have the cash and will maybe even own one.
One thing that bothers me tho -
Isn't 60" of waterlift absolutely pathetic? A Miele gets around 100-115" and same with a Dyson. I would even wager my (for now how I see it) absolutely superb Kenmore Magic Blue (newer version) gets around the same as a Miele on an empty bag - the suction is out of control on that thing.

Which is why I said, originally - it is better made - not the best which suggests the best is yet to come from any brand.
IN so far as the water pull, a factor that I must admit doesn't interest me much, Sebo quote the pull PER minute which is 120cfm. That's 20 off the Miele S5 - but then the Miele S5 has a smaller dust bag capacity - Sebo's dust bag is measured between 5.5 and 6 litres. Sebo's hose is also longer at 2.1 metres than Miele's 1.8 metres. All in, where airflow is concerned, it takes longer on the Sebo because of the longer hose and bigger dust bags.

I much prefer uprights to canister cleaners but the idea of the pn is that canisters have more suction and airflow than a clean air upright due to there been more space for bigger motors. so with a pn you are getting the best of both worlds the uprights motor driven brush action with the huge suction power of the canister.

I like that D4...
...and Sebos in general. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if the opportunity arose.
I like the idea of powerful vacuums that are also quiet. I know Miele made their reputation with that formula, but the price of Miele bags upsets me. I would happily own a good Miele, but it would never be my daily driver because of bag cost.
A PN paired with a canister never bothered me. It just makes more sense to me to have good, positive agitation if I'm vacuuming carpet. What does bother me is the sound and feel of those clacky wheeled plastic hard floor nozzles on bare floors. It's a bare floor, for grief sakes. Why don't they put soft rubber wheels on those things? As it is, using one is clacky, loud, plasticky, and cheap feeling. The sound of hard plastic wheels on hardwood or tile is unsettling.
Curious about the water lift, though. Does that mean it lacks in suction and is not as good without a power nozzle to agitate the dust up first? Now is it with straight suction cleaning, as in above floor cleaning?

If you refer to my previous post, you'll see why the Sebo D4 is lower on the water lift factor than the S5. Bigger bag, longer hose on the D4. Also has 100 watts lower than the 2200 watts on an S5 - D4's have a 2100 watt motor and 175 watt motor ET-1 PN.

Unbelievably whenever i'm cleaning marble flooring with Miele's highly claimed "AirTeq" floor head which have rubber lined wheels, they also squeal against the floor. The Sebo's single wheeled standard suction only floor head does not, and neither does the heavier Deluxe Kombi floor tool.
