Sebo Cordless SoftCase BP60

Oh boy, this is not what I needed to see. I've been literally dreaming about Sebos all week and this is the exact kind of machine I would be interested in. A new direct-air bagged machine!! I'm not a fan of batteries since they get worn out pretty quickly in my experience, but the corded model looks great. $399 is not bad at all.

Please keep us updated if anyone buys one!

I'd be very interested to see the Karcher branded corded one also. Personally, I'd have launched that first in Europe, since we can't even buy Orecks anymore, it would fill a gap in the market.

If anyone here does buy the corded Karcher $399 one in the US, please do make a topic. I'd like to see some proper photos and/or a video.

We've been using the cordless on the shop floor this week. Alright, it's expensive I know (we have an off-site deal though), but it's great for going around our parts shelves (we have several isles that are a pain to vacuum). And it is very effective, and as mentioned upthread, it is a Sebo X brushroll.

Now this is interesting.
Looks like it cleans better than the Truvox Valet (Simplicity Freedom cordless).

Price

The price is high that's fair to say but when we compare it to other cordless options like the tacony built machines or the Hoover 40v ones which both seem to range around 700-800 (hoover doesn't include a battery or charger for 319) The Sebo has a few features to it that makes it a little more palatable for the commercial setting, like it's geared belt(s) and easy change brushroll.

But for that price, I could buy a Versamatic with alot to offer than that. More power, better filtration, tools on board, bypass design so heavier debris won't wear out the fan, no batteries that'll die and require replacing, etc. To me it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to go for cordless in the commercial market especially for direct air vacuums. I'm pretty sure that's why the ProTeam FreeFlex was a failure.

That is true

But there's the allure of convenience we have a few of the tacony models around work, I think like 3 of them those who have them really do like them we also had a cordless backpack or two around. I do think you're right that they won't be huge sellers due to the price tag.

I think the Tacony versions are really nice machines, fun to play around with. Although, they aren't as powerful as the corded variants or even both of my older Simplicity Freedoms that I have. The only time I could ever see myself using a cordless full size machine is if the power went out in a building and I'd still need to clean the place up while it's dark. Other than that, I'd use cordless machines in commercial environments that are smaller and easier to use for quick pickups like the Dyson V7 my office has. Last time I looked, they're like less than $200 which I think sounds reasonable.
